I've tried every "healthy rice" going and this is the first one that actually tastes like rice. Firm grains, no rubbery bounce, no weird smell — it just soaks up whatever sauce I throw at it. Genuinely can't tell it's the lighter option.

I was so ready to hate this. Every konjac thing I'd tried before smelled fishy out of the pack. This one doesn't — no rinsing, no smell, just add water. Completely changed my mind.

Sunday I make a big batch and split it into deli containers. By Thursday it still fluffs back up in the microwave with a splash of water. Regular rice is basically a brick by day three, so this genuinely surprised me.

I returned two other konjac products before this one. The wet pouch ones have that smell — everyone knows the smell. This is dry so there's none of that. Should've been the obvious answer all along.

How it works

Build a better bowl.

Deliciously endless possibilities, all built with Cut Kitchen rice.

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know before your first bowl.

Questions, answered.
What is Cut Kitchen rice?

Real white rice flour blended with konjac (a Southeast Asian vegetable) and water to give you the same satisfying bite of rice with 56% fewer calories than white rice.*

It's made for bowls, meal-prep, stir-fries, curries, sides — you name it! Use anywhere you'd normally use rice.

What is konjac?

Konjac is a root vegetable native to Southeast Asia, where it has been cultivated for more than 2,000 years. Celebrated for its natural dietary fibre and satiating effects, the plant is dried and ground into konjac flour, a versatile ingredient long used throughout traditional Asian cuisine.

What does it taste like?

Like white rice — that's the point. Our grains have a mild, neutral taste with a soft, satisfying chew, and go perfectly with the same sauces, seasonings, proteins, and vegetables you already use.

Is it dried?

Cut Kitchen rice comes dried, not wet or pre-cooked in a pouch. That means it's lightweight, pantry-friendly, and ready when you are.

How do I cook it?

Two easy ways (no draining) — choose what's best for you!

Hot water: combine equal parts rice and boiling water in a bowl, cover for 15–20 minutes, then fluff and enjoy.

Stovetop: bring equal parts rice and water to a boil uncovered, remove from heat, cover for 15 minutes, then fluff and enjoy.

How many calories are in it?

70 calories per serving (¼ cup dry, 45g) — 56% fewer than the 160 calories in the same serving of white rice.* That works out to 68 calories per 100g cooked.

How many servings are in a bag?

About 22 servings (serving size ¼ cup dry, 45g) per bag.

Is it vegan and gluten-free?

Yes and yes. It's plant-based, and the three ingredients (konjac powder, rice flour, water) contain no gluten. It's not grain-free, since it's made with rice flour.

How should I store it?

It's dried and shelf-stable. Store in a cool, dry place like any other pantry staple, and seal after opening.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship throughout the United States. Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days, and orders of 2 bags or more qualify for free shipping.
